About Follwup
Good software shouldn't require a budget most small businesses don't have.
I built Follwup because I couldn't find a tool that did the job without costing a fortune or needing a developer to set it up.
Every chatbot worth using wanted $500 a month, a 12-month contract, or a call with their sales team before you could even try it. The ones that were affordable felt like toys. I wanted something in between.
So I built it. Solo, without investors, without a roadmap deck. Just a real problem and the stubborn belief that small teams deserve real tools.

How it started
In 2024, I was building a small project for a client who needed a chatbot on their website. Something that could answer questions, capture leads, work around the clock.
I spent three days evaluating tools. Intercom wanted $74 a month to start, and that was the entry tier, before you could actually do anything useful with it. Zendesk required a 30-day enterprise trial to access their AI features. Drift had quietly removed their free plan. The tools that worked properly cost more than most small businesses make in profit in a week.
“The tools that worked properly cost more than most small businesses make in profit in a week.”
The cheaper alternatives were either dead projects with no maintenance, or barely-functional no-code tools that produced chatbots so bad they made the brand look worse for having one.
So I built Follwup. Not to get rich, not to pitch investors, not to chase enterprise contracts. I built it because a small business that actually needs this tool deserves to have it, without the price tag designed for companies with seven-figure SaaS budgets.
The first version took three months. It wasn't pretty. But it worked. And once I started showing it to people, something clicked. They didn't ask for more features, they asked when they could use it.
The problem
What the market got wrong
Built for enterprise, priced for enterprise
The best AI chatbot tools are designed for companies with dedicated implementation teams. The pricing reflects that. A bootstrapped founder can't compete on the same playing field.
Complexity dressed up as features
Pages of settings. Jargon-heavy documentation. Weeks to get live. Many tools equate complexity with quality. They're wrong. The best tools are the ones you can use on day one.
AI hype over honest shipping
The industry promised AI that could do everything. What shipped was often a glorified decision tree. We decided we'd rather ship less and be honest about what it actually does.
What we stand for
Small teams deserve enterprise-grade tools at prices that don't punish them for being small.
That's not a marketing line. It's the reason Follwup exists and the reason every pricing and product decision gets made. If we drift from it, we've failed.
What we believe
The things we won't compromise on
Honest over impressive
We don't list features we haven't built. We don't claim AI can do things it can't. If something is on the roadmap, we say it's on the roadmap. It takes discipline not to oversell. We do it anyway.
Simple is a product decision
Every setting we don't add is a decision not to add it. Simplicity isn't laziness, it's the hardest thing to ship. We review everything through the lens of: does a first-timer understand this in under 30 seconds?
Flat pricing is a values statement
We don't charge per seat. We don't charge per message. We don't have a 'contact sales' tier hidden behind the real pricing. You see the price. You decide. That's it.
The product earns the customer, not the contract
No annual lock-ins, no early termination fees, no pressure. If Follwup stops being useful to you, you should be able to leave immediately. The only retention we care about is the product being good enough that you don't want to.
Clarity
What Follwup is not
Not a replacement for your support team
Follwup handles the routine, the questions that have a clear, documented answer and don't need a human. Your team handles the rest. That's the design. Anything that claims to fully replace humans is lying.
Not venture-backed, not chasing enterprise
No investors means no pressure to 10x pricing, bundle in features you didn't ask for, or pivot to an enterprise model. The product stays focused on the people who actually need it.
Not a feature factory
We don't add features to make the pricing look more justified. Every addition has to earn its place by genuinely making the product better for the people using it.
Pricing philosophy
Why our pricing looks the way it does
Most SaaS pricing is designed to obscure the real cost until you're invested enough not to leave. Hidden per-seat fees. Conversation limits buried in the small print. Features gated behind enterprise tiers with prices you only discover on a call.
Follwup is a flat monthly price per chatbot. You see every tier on the pricing page, publicly, without entering an email. The free plan is real, not a 14-day trial, not a bait-and-switch. It's just free, so you can decide if it's worth paying for.

Michal
Founder, design, product, engineering
Follwup is a one-person company. That's not a limitation, it's a choice. It means the person who built it is the same person answering support emails, shipping features, and deciding what the product should be. There's no layer of abstraction between the product and its customers.
It also means the product grows sustainably. No pressure to hire a sales team. No investors demanding a growth chart that goes up and to the right regardless of product quality. Just a tool that has to be genuinely useful to exist.
Roadmap
