1. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. If you subscribe to a paid plan, your billing details are handled by Stripe, we never receive or store your card number.
Content you provide
When you train a chatbot, we store the content you upload (files, URLs, text, Q&A pairs). This content is used exclusively to power your chatbot and is never used to train our models or shared with other customers.
Conversation data
Conversations between your visitors and your chatbot are stored as text transcripts. These are accessible to you in your dashboard. Visitors are not required to create an account.
Lead contact details
If you enable the lead capture form, your chatbot collects visitor names and email addresses on your behalf. You are the data controller for these contacts; we process them on your instruction.
Usage data
We collect anonymised usage data (pages visited, features used, errors encountered) to improve the product. This data is not linked to individual identities.
2. How we use your information
To provide the service
We use your information to operate Follwup, training your chatbots, processing payments, and sending account-related emails (receipts, password resets, plan changes).
To improve the product
Anonymised usage data helps us understand which features are used, where users encounter problems, and how to improve. We do not sell this data.
To communicate with you
We may send occasional product updates and new feature announcements. You can unsubscribe at any time from any email we send.
We do not sell your data
Full stop. Your information, including your training content, conversation transcripts, and captured leads, is never sold to or shared with third parties for advertising or commercial purposes.
3. Data storage & transfers
Where data is stored
Data is stored on servers operated by our database provider in EU and US regions. If you require specific data residency, contact us, we can discuss options for Business plan customers.
International transfers
If you access Follwup from outside the EU, your data may be processed in a country where data protection laws differ from your own. We apply GDPR-standard protections regardless of where data is processed.
Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a chatbot or contact, it is removed from our systems within 30 days. If you close your account, all associated data is deleted within 30 days of your request.
5. Your rights
Access
You have the right to request a copy of all personal data we hold about you. Email support@follwup.app and we will respond within 30 days.
Erasure (right to be forgotten)
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data. We will complete this within 30 days. Note that some data may be retained for legal or tax obligations (e.g. payment records).
Portability
You can export your training data, conversation history, and contact list directly from your Follwup dashboard at any time.
Correction
If any information we hold about you is inaccurate, you can update most details directly in your account settings. For other corrections, contact us.
Objection
You may object to certain processing (e.g. receiving marketing emails) at any time. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
6. Third-party services
Stripe
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. Follwup never sees or stores your card number. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
OpenAI
We use OpenAI APIs to power the AI chatbot responses. Your training content is sent to OpenAI as part of the response generation process. OpenAI's data usage policies apply.
Vercel
Our application is hosted on Vercel. Request logs may be temporarily stored as part of normal infrastructure operation.
